A downloadable tool

What Is It?

The Amiga Graphic Designer is another tool for the Amiga 40 Tool Jam. It was started because I wanted something to resize my screenshots to make an icon. As usual, the ideas for the project got out of hand, when I decided to add Layers to the tool, like a modern Graphics Editor, where you can resize and move layers on top of, and under, other layers. So it's a lot like a desktop publisher.

So far, the basics of the app have been put together, and its possible to load images and brushes, resize and move them about, with layers which can be visible or invisible.

After a text mode is added, a way to add custom shapes, a palette editor, and maybe the .icon section, this tool will be ready.

Limits List:

  • High-Res interlaced screen mode only.
  • 12 Layers Maximum
  • All images must use the same palette, using Remap in DPaint, PPaint etc. This will not be fixed in the final version.

Bugs List:

  • The app uses chip memory for now, so it could use up all of your chip ram and crash if you have tons of images.
  • The stamps only appear on the top-most layer
  • The app might expect there to be a background image pic on layer 1 (untested)
  • Transparency toggle broken??? (untested)
